Adobe Acrobat Reader is free software that lets you open, view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files.  The icon at the left will take you to Adobe's web site where you can obtain a free copy of the software.  You only have to select the name of your operating system (Window 98, 2000, Me, etc.), and then download the software to your desktop.  After downloading, double-click the icon on your desktop and "Accept" their standard agreement prior to using the software.

Before you can open PDF files that you receive in emails, you must first find, download, and install Winzip. Type the word "Winzip" in your AOL browser and then find a site to download the software. After downloading the software, configure your AOL browser to "unzip on download."  Winzip is required for AOL users because AOL zips (shrinks) all files attached to emails sent to AOL users.

Question:  How do I close all of these windows?
Answer: Click the "X" in the upper right corner of your browser.
If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape, click the "X" in the upper right corner of your browser.  This will close the current window and take you back to the main portion of the site.  You should be able to tell how many windows are open by looking at the window bar of your browser.  We recommend that you use Internet Explorer to view this site.
Question:  I'm a licensed real estate broker.  Do you co-broke?
Answer: Yes - if you follow the NAR's Code of Ethics
Janovetz Realty Advisors is pleased to work with Buyer and Seller Brokers.  One of our requirements is that you have an active state real estate license in order to receive or pay any commissions or referral fees.  If you have an active listing, you will need to send us a copy of your listing contract's signature page, showing the property name, property address, the listing's expiration date, and the seller's registration requirements for buyers presented after the listing period expires.  JRA will register in writing with your State Real Estate Commission after signing a fee agreement with you and prior to registration of our Buyer with you. You may register your buyer but you must call JRA first to see if we have already worked with your buyer. JRA requires signed Buyer Agency agreements.
Question:  How can I protect my computer from viruses?
Answer: Buy a program that checks for viruses.
If you surf the Internet, send or receive emails, you should have a basic virus checker.  We strongly recommend Norton Antivirus which can be purchased on the Internet from Symantec for a small fee.  There is a link to Symantec on the Links Page.  The software checks all of your incoming emails for known viruses, protects you while you surf the Internet, and will also check your computer to see if you have any viruses on your computer that were there before you installed the software.  For a nominal price, you get the virus checking software and access to new virus definitions provided by their "Live Update" feature.  You can run Live Update as many times as you like.

Don't send viruses to your friends and colleagues.  Buy a virus checker!
Question:  What is a worm?
Answer: A worm is a virus received in an email that sends itself to all of the people in your address book.
After the worm sends itself to all of the people in your address book, it might completely destroy your hard drive or sit idle until a specific date or time.  Worms may also use email addresses in your address book as the sender causing people in your address book to get automated undeliverable email replies.  We strongly suggest that you regularly backup the important files on your computer and protect your computer by spending a few bucks and installing virus checking software.  See the previous Q & A.
